Charlie Parrish lowered his fourth-best time in program history during the semifinals of the 3,000m Steeplechase

FAYETTEVILLE, AR – Junior Charlie Parrish (Freeburg, IL/Freeburg HS) improved on his fourth-best time in program history, finishing 22nd overall in the Men's 3,000m Steeplechase in Bradley's lone event of the day at the 2022 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championship West Preliminary Friday evening at John McConnell Field.

Running in the third heat, Parrish ran a personal-best 8:51.01, just 61-hundredths of a second off Chase Coffey's school record in the event. His 22nd overall finish was the best placement by a Brave at the West Preliminary since Eric Delvo finished 14th in 2014. Parrish, who was the event runner-up at the 2022 MVC Outdoor Track and Field Championship, also finished nine spots ahead of Valley champion Jdai Aziz of Drake.

The final day of the West Preliminary Saturday will feature four Bradley women student-athletes. Sophomore Sophia McDonnell will take to the track first at 5:40 pm by competing in the 3,000m Steeplechase semifinal, followed by sisters Julia Nielsen and Wilma Nielsen in the quarterfinals of the 800m at 7:05. Freshman Nicola Jansen will complete Bradley's participation by running the semifinals of the 5,000m at 8:10 pm. Saturday evening's events will be streamed live on SEC Network Plus with coverage beginning at 5 o'clock.
