MANHATTAN, Kan. – Bradley Men's Golf kicked off the 2022-23 season with a strong showing on day one of the Wildcat Invitational, with the Braves sitting in sixth in the 15-team field after two rounds of play at the par-72 Colbert Hill Golf Club Monday.

Senior Josh Kirkham is the leader in the clubhouse for Bradley after firing a pair 72's and is tied for 18th overall at even-par 144 after turning in eight birdies on the day.

The Braves followed up a morning round 296 with a 293 in the afternoon and head into Tuesday's final round sixth in the standings at 13-over 589.  Tournament-host Kansas State holds a commanding lead on the field at 25-under 551 with North Dakota State second at four-under 572.

Grand Canyon closed Monday's action in third at 578, while Southern Illinois (4th – 584) and Creighton (5th – 587) are within striking distance of Bradley after 36 holes.  The Braves have a six-shot advantage on seventh-place UT Martin (595) and are eight shots better than a three-way tie for eighth between Oakland, Houston Baptist and Drake at 597 in the 15-team field.

Freshman Connor Hamm was impressive in his first collegiate round, firing a one-under 71 to lead Bradley in the morning round.  Hamm, who fired six birdies in the first round, chased his one-under with a second-round 76 and is tied for 25th overall at 147, two shots out of the top 20.

Graduate transfer Luke Armbrust also had a strong Bradley debut with eight birdies of his own during Monday's play, including five in a second-round 71.  He carded a first-round 77 and sits one shot back of Hamm in a tie for 29th (148).

Senior John Stillman closed the day in a tie for 47th at 152, improving by four shots in the afternoon as he followed up a first-round 78 with a second-round 74.
