PEORIA, Ill. – The season came to an end for the Bradley Braves after losing 2-0 against #18 Western Michigan at Shea Stadium. Bradley finishes the season with a 5-6-6 record, while the Broncos improve to 13-1-3 and extends their streak to 16 consecutive games without a loss.
Bradley Soccer celebrated senior night by honoring
Patrick Fishburne,
Jackson Fyda,
Camden Kowalski,
Alex Nicastro and
Pepe Mellado.
Four out of the five graduating seniors started the game for the Braves.
Alex Grow started in goal for the first time since Oct. 9, 2023.
The first half ended in a deadlock after a back-and-forth battle. The Braves finished the half with three corners and zero shots, while the Broncos had one corner and four shots.
During the second half, the Broncos increased their tempo to try and find the winning goal. In the 51st minute, their efforts would be rewarded, as Roni Sylejmani found the breakthrough. Only twelve minutes later, the visitors would double their lead thanks to a Tom Cooklin goal.
Bradley finished the second half with five shots, while the Broncos had seven.
The Braves will return to the pitch in the Fall of 2024 for the 38th season of Bradley Soccer.
