Box Score PEORIA, Ill. – The Bradley women's basketball team beat Quincy University on Field Trip Day, 79-73.
The Braves started strong as Junior
Alex Rouse drove into the paint, made a contested layup and the shot after. Bradley dominated on defense throughout the first quarter, not allowing the Hawks to sink a three in seven attempts, with the Hawks shooting 26.1% from the field. The Braves went into the second quarter leading, 21-12.
Sophomore
Reagan Barkema led the Braves at halftime with nine points, going 2-2 from three. Senior
Isis Fitch dominated the boards, snagging five rebounds, the most for Bradley. Bradley kept their composure and had great shot selection, making 60% from the field, 50% from three. The Braves went into the half on top, 46-38.
Bradley came out of halftime hot. In the first 4:25 minutes of the third quarter, the Braves went on a 12-6 run, making 6-7 shots. Rouse led the charge with six points. The Braves went into the fourth quarter with a 12-point lead, up 60-48.
Field Trip Day made it hard for the Hawks to concentrate. With the Brave's defense and the help of the noise, Quincy shot 35.8% from the field, 36.8% from three and 57.1% from the free throw line. Bradley continued to push the Quincy until the end, where the Braves came out over the Hawks, 79-73.
