Box Score PEORIA, Ill. – Bradley women's basketball earned a win against Lindenwood University, 63-56.
The first quarter began slow, with the Braves starting off 4-0 after three minutes. The scoring began to heat up for Bradley as Junior
Alex Rouse scored eight points, shooting 4-5. The Braves ended the first quarter leading 16-11.
The Braves kept out of foul trouble, only collecting three fouls compared to the Lion's five. Two of the three fouls came within the final 45 seconds of the first half. Bradley was dominating at the boards in the first half, grabbing 22 rebounds compared to the Lions nine. This dominance in the paint was led by Senior
Isis Fitch, who collected five rebounds. Eight Braves grabbed a rebound in the first half. The first half ended with the Braves on top, 30-26.
The Braves exited the third quarter with lots of momentum. Freshman
Claire McDougall made a layup and drew a foul on the way, resulting in an extra shot at the line. McDougall missed, but Freshman
Armoni "Moni" Strozier grabbed the rebound and shot another layup, scoring two more for the Braves. In the last 4:14 of the third quarter, Bradley went on a 11-4 run, McDougall scoring six and Strozier scoring the other five points. This fired up the Braves bench and Renaissance Coliseum, as the Braves entered the final quarter leading 44-36.
Bradley kept a strong defense throughout, with the Lions going 1-10 from three in their last 10 attempts at the arc. Across the night, the Lions were 5-25 from three. The Lions got into some foul trouble, with their leading point scorer fouling out and four players reaching four fouls. Bradley exited victorious, defeating the Lions 63-56.
