Box Score PEORIA, Ill. -- The Bradley Braves fought hard until the buzzer but fell in a close battle against conference rival Illinois State University, 78-74.
In the first half, the Braves came out hot. They shot 48.3% from the field, 53.8% from the three-point line. After only playing 15 minutes in the first half, Freshman
Halli Poock already scored 15 points. The Braves were winning at the boards, outrebounding the Redbirds 18 to 15. Going into halftime, Bradley held Illinois State to no field goals in the last 2:59 minutes. Bradley went into halftime with the lead, up 39-33.
Poock continued her dominance from the field, shooting 12-21, scoring 34 points. Poock shot half of Bradley's three's, making 63.6% from the arc. With her 34-point night, Poock now is tied for the record of the fourth-highest-point game in Bradley women's basketball history. Sophomore
Reagan Barkema also had a great game offensively, scoring 15 points all from the three-point line. Barkema was 71.4% from the arc. Bradley fought till the last minute, with great clock management from Head Coach
Kate Popovec-Goss, but it wasn't enough. Bradley was unable to pull out the win on the road but will host Illinois State later this year.
