The Braves headed to Nasvhille for the Roar City Invite and did not leave empty-handed, finishing the weekend 3-1.
In the first game of the tournament against undefeated North Alabama, Bradley was blanked 0-12.
Grace French went 2-2 hitting, and
Jordy van der Werf went 1-2 with a double.
The second game of the weekend came against Alabama A&M, and the Braves found themselves in the win column again.
Abbott Badgley threw five innings for the Braves, allowing two hits and one run while striking out three.
Camryn Schaller pitched the final two innings, only giving up a single hitting and striking out five. The Braves racked up six runs on nine hits, with three RBIs coming from
Bailey Sample on a home run. Bradley won the game 6-1.
The Braves faced North Alabama again on Sunday and picked up another win, defeating the Lions 4-0. Freshman
Lauren DeRolf went 3-3, with two runs scored and an RBI. French,
Kierston McCoy and
Katie Pederson each collected an RBI on three combined hits.
Jordy van der Werf also went 2-2 with a double. Badgley was once again on the mound for the Braves and continued to pitch well. The sophomore threw all seven innings, giving up six hits and striking out four.
Bradley's final game of the weekend was against Tennessee State, the host school of the Roar City Invite. The Braves once again had a stellar offense showing, scoring eight and tallying up 15 hits.
Angela Cirone and Pederson put their bats to work, as Cirone went 4-4 with a run scored and an RBI, and Pederson was 3-4 with a double and two RBIs. Sample also let another one fly out of the park, putting the Braves up 5-2 in the third inning. French threw four innings on the mound, allowing seven hits and five runs. Schaller pitched the final three innings, shutting out the Lady Tigers and striking out six.
The Braves will head to The Knights Classic hosted by UCF in Orlando this coming weekend.
