The Braves and Beacons met for the second time this season at the Renaissance Coliseum in Peoria on Thursday night.
Bradley was prepared to play Valpo after losing the first meeting by seven. The Braves hung with the Beacons in the first quarter but struggled in the second, only scoring eight points. Valpo pushed their lead in the third quarter, outscoring Bradley 20-14, but Bradley was ready to fight. Heading into the fourth, the Braves came alive. After trailing by 15 points at one time, Bradley scored 35 points in the fourth, while Valpo scored 25. In the end, it wasn't enough, and the Braves lost the game 72-76. The Braves dished out 18 assists compared to Valpo's 17 and grabbed eight steals while the Beacons had three. Free throws played a big part in the game. The Braves ended the game with 20 fouls, allowing Valpo to get to the line to make 18 free throws while they only made five.
Veronika Roberts had career highs in points (14), assists (3) and steals (3).
Caroline Waite had 14 points, four rebounds and two assists.
Alex Rouse chipped in 12 points, five rebounds, two assists and two steals, while
Ruba Abo Hashesh also scored 12.
