Weekend Preview: Bradley at New Mexico State Invitational

The Bradley softball team is ready to kick off another season as the Braves head to the New Mexico State Invitational for a weekend of games. 

The Braves open their season against Colorado State on Friday morning at 12 p.m CT. Bradley will face the Rams two more times during the weekend on Saturday at 12 p.m. and Sunday at 10 a.m.. The Braves will also face-off against New Mexico State on Friday at 5:00 p.m. and Saturday at 2:30 p.m.. 

Bradley and Colorado State have met four times in the past, and the Rams lead the series 2-1. The teams previously met twice in 2013 and once in 2014. The Braves have played New Mexico State eight times and the series is tied 4-4. The teams last met in 2020.

BRADLEY BRAVES
The Braves finished fifth in the Missouri Valley last season and find themselves with a new coaching staff. With Preseason All-MVC player Abbott Badgley and Grace French leading the way, the Braves are looking to kick off the season with a statement.

The Rams finished sixth in the Mountain West last year and are returning 14 letterwinners. CSU is returning with a more veteran roster than last year, including key players Peyton Allen, Hailey Smith, Ashley York, Danielle Serna, Julia Cabral and Maya Matsubara.

NEW MEXICO STATE AGGIES
The Aggies finished last in the West Division of the WAC last year with a record of 13-38 overall and 6-18 in conference play. NM State's Kayla Bowen picked up a preseason honor by being named to the Preseason All-WAC team. Bowen was also earned Second Team All-WAC honors last season.
