In her fifth year at Bradley,
Grace French has once again been named to the MVC All-Conference Second Team, as well as the All-Defensive Team.
French's bat was the definition of hot this season. Throughout the five tournaments Bradley played in, along with a doubleheader against SIUE, French hit .417 before conference play even began. In the second game of the season, French showed her experience, going 2-3 with two runs scored, a single, a home run and two RBI against New Mexico State. French would continue her hot bat at The Knights Classic in Orlando, hitting a solo shot to center against Purdue that put the Braves ahead in the game. She would also help Bradley defeat Evansville 8-0 when she and
Abbott Badgley hit back-to-back home runs.
The first tournament of the season at the New Mexico State Invitational started a trend for French that would continue throughout the season. She picked up her first double and now has 23, which is tied for fifth in the NCAA. French's name has never fluctuated out of the top ten for doubles, and her name can also be found in the top 20 for doubles per game. French will finish in the top rankings for Bradley season records for doubles, hit by pitch and pitching starts. She will also finish in similar fashion for Bradley career records in multiple categories, including: doubles, home runs, hit by pitch, pitching appearances, pitching starts, strikeouts, innings pitched, victories, complete games and assists.
French's success continues off the field as well. Having earned a double degree in kinesiology and health science, she is currently completing a Master's degree in Business Administration, holding a 4.0 GPA. Making the Bradley AD Honor Roll nine straight semesters, French has also been honored with academic awards 14 other times, including the MVC Commissioner's Academic Excellence Award twice and as an NFCA All-American Scholar-Athlete.
