PEORIA, Ill– Bradley Athletics is pleased to announce its 3rd Annual Long Ball Derby which will take place at 1:00pm CT on February 9, 2023 at the Louisville Slugger Sports Complex in Peoria. The Long Ball Derby is a way to support the Bradley Softball program. Fans can select a desired donation increment (i.e. 25 cents, 50 cents, $1, $2, etc.) as well as a player, coach, or guest hitter. Each hitter will have 10 at-bats to record their longest ball. Utilizing the Hit Trax system for optimal accuracy, each hitter's longest ball will then be multiplied by the selected donation increment for a gift in support of the program.
In 2023, the average long ball was approximately 215 feet and the event generated over $12,000 in support for the program.
"This is a great way for all Braves Fans to support our student-athletes and our Softball program," said Sr. Assoc. AD for Development J Locklier. We are excited for this unique opportunity for our fans to engage with our student-athletes and coaches while making a direct impact on their program."
