Peoria, IL – Bradley Women's Basketball's Ellie McDermid was named the final Missouri Valley Conference's Freshman of the Week.
McDermid named as MVC's Freshman of the Week
Forward Ellie McDermid was named the MVC's Freshman of the Week for the week of November 11th-17th. During the past week, McDermid started in both games that the Braves played, averaging 23.8 minutes per game. Out of all the starters for the Braves, McDermid had the highest field goal percentage at .636.
McDermid excelled at rebounding throughout the past week, recording 17 total rebounds, 13 of which defensively. This puts her average at 8.5 per game, almost double the next closest player in the Braves' lineup. McDermid also ranks 11th in the Valley for that statistic. She also ranks fifth in the valley for blocked shots, following fellow teammate Amy O'Hara, with 5.
This marks Ellie's first MVC honor and the first Bradley Freshman of the Week since Halli Poock on 2/27/24. This also comes after being named the Ameren Player of the Game for her performance, recording her first double-double against Lindenwood.
