PEORIA, Ill. -- Bradley University women's basketball athlete Ellie McDermid has been named this week's Busey Bank Scholar-Athlete of the Week, announced Tuesday. McDermid was honored after recording her first career double-double on Nov. 12 against Lindenwood and winning Missouri Valley Conference Freshman of the Week. 

The freshman from Green Bay, Wisconsin tallied her first career double-double in her second career collegiate game, tallying 13 points and 11 rebounds at Lindenwood on Nov. 12. McDermid was 6-10 from the floor and also tallied four offensive rebounds, two assists and two blocks in 30 minutes. On Nov. 17 against Central Michigan, McDermid tallied six rebounds and three blocks in just 17 minutes.

McDermid's strong performance and academic success have earned her this week's Busey Bank Scholar-Athlete honor.
