PEORIA, Ill. -- Bradley University men's basketball athlete Zek Montgomery has been named this week's Busey Bank Scholar-Athlete of the Week, announced Tuesday. Montgomery was honored after a 22-point performance in Bradley's Missouri Valley Conference opener against Southern Illinois.

The senior from Louisville, Ky., scored 22 points on 8-13 shooting while making five of his six three-point attempts in Carbondale on Dec. 3. Montgomery led Bradley in scoring while also recording one rebound, assist, block and steal as the Braves defeated SIU to begin conference play 1-0.

Montgomery's strong performance and academic success have earned him this week's Busey Bank Scholar-Athlete honor.
