Peoria, Ill. – Bradley Women's Basketball's Soleil Barnes Named MVC Newcomer of the Week

Senior guard Soleil Barnes has been named the Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) Newcomer of the Week for her performance during the week of Dec. 2–9. A transfer from the University of Toledo, Barnes has elevated the Braves' offensive output this season.

In Bradley's lone game of the week, Barnes delivered an all-around stellar performance, scoring 19 points in 32 minutes of play. She added six rebounds, seven assists, and one steal while shooting a perfect 6-for-6 from the free-throw line.

Barnes currently ranks in the top 10 in the MVC in free-throw percentage, three-point field goals per game, and assists. She is also among the top 20 in three-point field goal percentage, field goal percentage, and scoring, further solidifying her impact on the court.

This recognition marks Barnes' first MVC honor and the first time a Bradley player has earned the Newcomer of the Week award since Halli Poock on Feb. 27, 2024.
