PEORIA, Ill.– Tori Meyer was named the Missouri Valley Conference Softball Player of the Week and earned an honorable mention for NFCA Player of the Week for her performance in the UNLV Desert Classic.
Meyer hit .500 on the weekend with an OPS of 1.574, leading the Braves with 20 ABs. She produced 6 runs on 10 hits throughout the weekend with 3 doubles, a triple and 2 HRs.
In the Braves' match up against UNLV on Saturday, Meyer hit for the cycle recording a double, single, HR, then triple. She went 4-5, scoring 3 runs, with an RBI.
"Tori was locked in this weekend and did a great job on keeping her role simple at the plate," said head coach Sarah Willis. "Hitting for the cycle isn't something that happens every day and is fun to watch."
She leads the team in every offensive category following the first weekend of play:
