PEORIA, Il– Bradley Athletics is pleased to announce a successful 2024 Long Drive event.  Taking place on Saturday 1/27/24 at the Bradley Indoor Golf Facility, the event benefited both the Bradley Men's & Women's Golf programs. 

Over 140 pledges "per yard" were received that resulted in over $16,000 in support for the golf programs.  All Men's & Women's Golf student-athletes, in addition to Head Men's Golf Coach Jeff Roche and Head Women's Golf Coach Halley Morell, were given ten swings to produce their longest drive as measured by state-of-the-art Trackman technology. 

On the Men's side, Sophomore Connor Hamm took the top honors with a long drive of 385 yards.  On the Women's side, Senior Grace Aromando set the pace with a long drive of 284 yards.  The Men's program averaged over 339 yards per drive and the Women's program averaged over 261 yards per drive.

Head Men's Golf Coach Jeff Roche stated, "The Long Drive competition was a great experience for our student-athletes.  The build up to this first one-of-a-kind event provided a fun atmosphere to watch our players showcase their power.  The support of the Bradley Golf family, friends, donors, and administration is what made this event successful and we are very appreciative!  We look forward to holding this event each year as it is a great way to kick off our season!"  

Head Women's Golf Coach Halley Morell added, "Thank you to all of the people who supported our Long Drive competition!  With the amazing success of this event, our team will be able to enhance our travel schedule and our indoor facility which will help to elevate our program and contribute to future championships.  Go Braves!"

AD for Development J Locklier stated, "The inaugural Long Drive event was a tremendous way to support our Bradley Golf programs.  Bradley Golf fans really responded to the challenge with over 140 pledges and 78 new donors generating over $16,000 in support for our student-athletes.  We look forward to making this an annual event as we kick off our golf seasons."
