Box Score TERRE HAUTE, IN.– The Braves were able to take their first conference victory of the season with a 4-2 win over the Indiana State Sycamores.
"The first conference win is always important. It sets a tone and the mindset of the ball club," said Head Coach Sarah Willis. "The team has set into motion that with each conference game we will continue to move forward and get to work."

It was a heavy first half of the game for both teams, as all 6 runs were scored in the first three innings.
Bailey Sample started the scoring for the Braves in the top of the first with an fielders choice, which brought Tori Meyer in to score.
The Sycamores came back in the bottom of the second inning with two runs on a fly out to LF, putting Indiana State up 2-1.
Bailey Sample notched her second and third RBI on the night in the top of the third with a single.
Following Sample's at bat, Abbott Badgley brought Sample home to finish the scoring, 4-2.
The Sycamores threatened in the bottom of the seventh, but had nothing to show for it.
Sydney Kennedy took the win in the circle for the Braves, making her record 7-4. She collected 7 K's, while only allowing 5 hits in 7.0 IP.
"Kennedy is a pitcher that works ahead and attacks hitters with her pitches," said coach Sarah Willis. " She has a great understanding of the type of pitcher she is and she trusts it. Strong IQ and ability makes her a tough competitor."
