PEORIA, Ill.-- Sydney Kennedy was named the Missouri Valley Conference Newcomer of the Week for her performance on the mound for the Braves.
Kennedy made four appearances this week and recorded wins in all four. In 25.o innings pitched she struck out 28 batters, while posting a 0.56 ERA. She pitched 2 complete games and went 4-9 at the plate.
Kennedy set her game-high in strikeouts, 10, at Southeast Missouri on Mar. 12th. Followed by a 7 strikeout appearance at Indiana State on Mar. 15th.
She led the Braves to their first conference series win since Mar. 19th, 2023 at Evansville. Kennedy took both wins in the series win, allowing only 2 runs.
