MEET THE SENIORS
Bradley is honoring four players for Senior Day.
Tete Danso,
Daija Powell,
Ruba Abo Hashesh and
Isis Fitch.
First,
Tete Danso. Danso joined the Braves in 2020. Tete played 57 games with the Braves, shooting a career 42.2% from the field, grabbing 204 rebounds in her first two seasons. She medically retired following the 2022-2023.
"Undoubtedly, my most cherished memory remains the win over Drake at the MVC tournament during my freshman year. Entering college in the midst of a pandemic posed significant challenges, navigating not only the typical adjustments of university life but also the unpredictable flows of COVID itself. Despite these hurdles, the opportunity to continue playing the sport I adore and etch our names into the history of Bradley women's basketball remains indelibly in my mind. I can vividly recall the euphoria that washed over me as the final buzzer sounded, the celebrations with my teammates, and the triumphant journey back home, greeted by the warm embrace of our city and fellow students, proudly clutching our gleaming gold trophy. Truly, it was an experience beyond words," Danso said.

"The paramount lesson gleaned from this experience was the revelation of my true potential. Juggling the demands of basketball alongside the rigors of a nursing major required unwavering determination. Undoubtedly, it stands as one of the most formidable challenges I will encounter in this lifetime. Yet, with each passing day, I found myself exceeding my own expectations and gradually embracing the profound realization that with unwavering commitment and passion, any obstacle can be overcome," Danso said.
Second, we have
Daija Powell. Powell joined the Braves in 2021 after transferring from Texas Tech. Powell played 56 games for the Braves, posting a career 5.9 points per game and 4.6 rebounds per game in a Bradley uniform. Powell's biggest lesson that she learned as a Brave is to be adaptable.
"Things are not always going to go according to plan, but they'll still work out in a different way," Powell said.
"Being a senior means being there to help guide the younger classmen, and leading by example on and off the court by your actions and your words," Powell said.
Next, we have
Ruba Abo Hashesh. Abo Hashesh joined the Braves in 2022 after transferring from Iowa Western CC. Abo Hashesh played in 61 games for the Braves, averaging 6.5 points per game and 2.5 assists per game across her Bradley career. Abo Hashesh's favorite Bradley moment came earlier this year.
"Our home opener win against Central Michigan. It was such a fun and competitive game to play after such an emotionally loaded weekend. Also because we had our full roster and the whole team was just hooping and playing freely and having fun!" Abo Hashesh said.
"Being a senior is proof of commitment, grit and stamina, and I'm extremely proud of my senior class for making it this far. Being a senior for me this year meant putting all of the years of experience together, have fun and lead the younger troops by example, and by being a good teammate," Abo Hashesh said.
Last but certainly not least, we have
Isis Fitch. Fitch joined the Braves in 2020, playing in four seasons for Bradley. She has played 114 games wearing red and white, averaging 5.8 points per game and 4.5 rebounds per game throughout her career.
"My evolution as a leader is something that I will take from my journey here at Bradley. Learning how to talk to different personality types, and be self-aware is something I will use for the rest of my life," Fitch said.
"Being a Senior means getting to see all my hard work pay off throughout the four years I've been at Bradley. Taking all the lessons I've learned and using them to start a new journey in my life," Fitch said.
