PEORIA, Ill.– The Braves won both games in the doubleheader against the OVC's top team in Eastern Illinois.
Game 1
The Braves got off to a hot start, scoring four of their five runs in the first and second innings.
Sydney Kennedy started the scoring in the first inning with a single to score Lauren DeRolf on the overthrow.
In the second inning, Bailey Sample hit a single up the middle to bring in Addie Welsh. Followed up by a two-outs, bases-loaded double by Abbott Badley which brought in two more runs.
Eastern Illinois fought back, but Kierston McCoy was able to silence the rally from the Panthers with the game winning HR, to bring her season total to six.
The Braves utilized their entire pitching staff in the win, with Kennedy getting the start and going 2.0 innings, then followed by Abbott Badgley who stalled the defense in her 4.0 innings of work and got the win. Camryn Schaller recorded the save with her two strikeouts in her 1.0 inning on the mound.
Game 2
The Panthers got on the board quickly in the second match-up, however the Braves responded in the third.
Austin Comstock, getting the nod in the DP position, singled up the middle to score DeRolf and tie the game at one. Kierston McCoy was able to plate another run. The Braves then had back-to-back walks to bring in the third run of the inning.
The Bradley defense kept the Panthers off the scoreboard and were able to come away with the win.
Camryn Schaller went the distance on the mound recording 8 strikeouts in 7.0 innings pitched while only allowing four hits and two earned runs.

The Braves will host the University of Illinois-Chicago in their final three-game series of the season, starting on May 3rd.
