MADISON, Ill. – Connor Hamm and the Braves shattered records at the season-opening Dolenc Invitational, with Hamm winning the first individual title of his career and leading the Braves to a joint-third-place finish in an 18-team field.
Hamm began the tournament by shooting a seven-under-par 64, setting a new mark for the lowest 18-hole single-round score in program history. Hamm followed with rounds scores of 67 and 69 in the final two rounds for a 54-hole score of 200, a new program record for 54-hole score. Brody McCarthy each finished five strokes under par, including McCarthy shooting a 66 in round two.
As a team, the Braves started hot, completing the first two rounds on Monday with scores of 279 and 278, the third and second-lowest 18-hole team scores in program history, and finished the tournament with a score of 289 in round three. The 54-hole team score of 846 is a new program record in that category, shattering the old record by 12 strokes.
