PEORIA, Ill. – The Bradley Cross Country teams continued their dominance in 2024, winning individual and team titles in the Bradley Intercollegiate held at Detweiller Park.
Michael Rebello won the Men's 8K event after placing third in the 2023 event. Rebello recorded his second top-ten finish in two races, placing seventh in the season-opening Hawkeye Invitational on August 30th. Bradley runners made up the entirety of the top five, with
Parker Nold,
Caden Simone,
Travis Gaffney and
Caleb Lind completing the order. Ultimately, 10 Bradley runners claimed positions in the top 21. Bradley won the Intercollegiate Men's 8K team title for the tenth consecutive time, dating to 2014.
Nadia Potgieter successfully defended her Bradley Intercollegiate crown in the Women's three-mile race. Potgieter paced the Braves in the race as the Women's team claimed all but one position out of the top 11 and placed no runners outside of the top 25.
Abigail Hancock and
Kaitlyn Sheppard placed second and third this week, swapping positions from the Hawkeye Invitational where Sheppard took second and Hancock took third.
Eimear McCarroll took home fifth in her first collegiate meet.
Additionally, Potgieter's victory meant she has won the first two meets of the cross country season, including Bradley Intercollegiate events, for the second consecutive year.
