Julia Brown has been named this week's Busey Bank Scholar-Athlete of the Week, announced Tuesday. Brown was honored after running the fastest 300m time and the third-fastest 60m time in program history in her first collegiate track meet.
The freshman from Oak Park, Illinois, began her career with a time of 7.86 seconds in the women's 60m prelims at the Cougar Alumni Open in Chicago. Brown then placed fifth in the 60m finals, clocking a time of 7.83 seconds, good for the third-fastest in program history.
