Almar Atlason has been named this week's Busey Bank Scholar-Athlete of the Week, announced Tuesday. Atlason was honored after scoring a career-high 28 points, going 11-for-15 from the field and six-for-nine on three-pointers, against Belmont on Feb. 5.
The sophomore from Reykjavik, Iceland, scored a 28 points with 11 made field goals and six made three-pointers against Belmont on Feb. 5, all of which are career-highs or career-high-tying numbers. Atlason's 28 points and 11 made shots are either team highs or team-high-tying stats across all games this season. Atlason averaged 17 points per game in Bradley's games against Belmont and Evansville, shooting 65 percent from the field and 61.5 percent from three-point range.
Atlason's strong performance and academic success have earned him this week's Busey Bank Scholar-Athlete honor.
