Peoria, Ill. – Bradley Women's Basketball's Soleil Barnes Named MVC Newcomer of the Week, her third honor of the season.

Senior guard Soleil Barnes has been named the Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) Newcomer of the Week for her performance during the week of Feb. 17–24. A transfer from the University of Toledo, Barnes has elevated the Braves' offensive output this season.

In Bradley's victory against Illinois State, Barnes scored a total of 30 points, going 10-24 from the field and 3-9 from beyond the arc. She hit her career-high in points, field goals made, and free throws made. On top of her 30 points, Barnes recorded three rebounds and four assists. 

In Missouri Valley play, Barnes ranks in the top ten in scoring (15.5), three-point field goals per game (2.4) and minutes (32.7). She also ranks in the top-20 in the Valley in free-throw percentage (.842) and three-point field goal percentage (.320). Not only is Barnes an instrumental part in the Braves' success but she has established herself as a top player in the conference. 

This recognition marks Barnes' third MVC honor, and her first since Dec. 9-16th.
