PEORIA, Ill. -- Bradley University softball athlete Bailey Sample has been named this week's Busey Bank Scholar-Athlete of the Week, announced Tuesday. Sample was honored after hitting .636 with a .733 on base percentage in four games at the Western Kentucky Hilltopper Classic.

The senior from Benicia, California, tallied seven hits in just 11 at bats and reached base 11 times in 15 plate appearances at the Hilltopper Classic. Sample reached base in every plate appearance on Monday, Feb. 24, going two-for-two with two walks and a stolen base in the morning against Gardner-Webb and following it up with another two-for-two game with her second home run of the season and a walk in the afternoon against Western Kentucky. 

Sample's strong performance and academic success have earned her this week's Busey Bank Scholar-Athlete honor.
