What to Watch
The Braves look to get back into the win column after their loss to UNI. They will need to hold Drake's offensive threats at bay as Drake averages 76.5 points per game which is second in the Valley. It'll also be important for Bradley to minimize their turnovers and see some depth scoring.
Key Players to Watch
-
Soleil Barnes (Bradley): Barnes has scored 20+ points in two of her last three games and leads the Braves in scoring all year. She will need to have a very strong game to keep the Braves in contention.
-
Kaylen Nelson (Bradley): Nelson put up double-digit points against the Panthers on Friday and she will need to have another efficient game on Sunday to help the Braves keep up with the Bulldogs' high-scoring offense.
About the Braves
The Braves (9-13, 3-8 MVC) fell to UNI on Friday in a matchup that fell apart in the second quarter. Bradley came out of the first quarter with a 14-13 lead but only scored eight in the second quarter and went into the half trailing by 10. Barnes was named the Ameren Illinois Player of the Game after she put up 14 points, two assists, and a rebound.
About the Bulldogs
The Bulldogs (14-8, 8-3 MVC) have been a bit streaky as they lost three games and then won their next three games heading into this matchup. Drake squeaked by in their last matchup against the Braves on January 10, winning 67-63 after the teams were tied at halftime.
