PEORIA, Ill. – The Missouri Valley Conference postseason accolades have recognized standout performances from Soleil Barnes and Ellie McDermid, highlighting their impact during the 2024-25 season for Bradley Women's Basketball.
Barnes Named MVC Newcomer of the Year
In her first season with the Braves, Soleil Barnes earned MVC Newcomer of the Year honors while also securing a spot on the Third-Team All-MVC and MVC All-Newcomer Team. She led Bradley in scoring, averaging 15.7 points per game, while shooting 38.7% from the field and 80.8% from the free-throw line. Her ability to deliver in key moments and provide consistent offensive production made her a focal point of Bradley's attack.
Barnes recorded multiple 20+ point performances, including a season-high 30 points against Illinois State. Her ability to score in a variety of ways and take control of games was a driving force for the Braves throughout the season.
McDermid Earns All-Freshman Team Recognition
Ellie McDermid capped off a strong debut season by earning a spot on the MVC All-Freshman Team. The forward averaged 6.6 points and 6.5 rebounds per game, while also leading the team with 28 blocked shots. She provided a strong defensive presence in the paint and showed steady development throughout the year.
McDermid's season-high 13 rebounds against Southern Illinois showcased her ability to control the glass, and her defensive contributions were key to Bradley's efforts in conference play.
