Game Recap: Women's Basketball | | Ben Kinealy

Peoria, Ill. - Bradley Women's Basketball ended their 2024-2025 regular season with a 64-54 loss to the Missouri State Bears.

A Close Start

The Braves kept it close with the MVC-leading Bears despite not playing their leading scorer. Bradley started the game with a five-point run, but Missouri State battled their way back into the game and went into the second quarter with a 15-12 lead. It was the same story in the second quarter as both teams went back-and-forth with neither team really pulling away from the other. The Bears entered halftime with a 33-29 lead.

Standout Performances for Bradley

  • Kaylen Nelson had a solid game and was named the Ameren Illinois Player of the Game. She scored 11 points, grabbed five boards, and had a team-leading four steals.

  • Tamia Perryman also had a great game, scoring 11 points while totaling a team-leading three assists, despite only playing 23 minutes.

A Back-and-Forth Battle

The Braves kept it competitive against the Bears but couldn't generate any sustained momentum in the second half. Bradley finished the third quarter trailing the Bears 49-42. In the fourth quarter, the Braves cut the deficit down to five, but Missouri State held on and ultimately took this one 64-54.

Struggles from the Line

The Braves couldn't capitalize on the free throw battle as both teams took a combined 42 free throws in this one. However, the Braves only made 10 of 18 while the Bears went 21-for-24, including going 8-for-8 in the fourth quarter to help put this game away.

Coming up…

The Braves will head into the MVC Tournament as the ninth seed with their first round matchup being against the Valparaiso Beacons.
