Timmy O'Brien of the baseball team is the April Prairie Farms Bradley Athlete of the Month, earning the honor after a fan vote.
O'Brien hit 10 home runs in 17 games in the month of April, including hitting one in five consecutive games and in seven of eight games. O'Brien tallied four runs batted Western Illinois on April 9 and Illinois State on April 19. Entering play on May 9, O'Brien is tied for the conference lead in home runs hit with 16. His 16 home runs on the season are tied for the second-most in a season in program history and are the most hit by a Brave in a season since 2001.
O'Brien earned the Prairie Farms Athlete of the Month accolade after a fan vote on the school's X account. He collected 81 percent of the vote to beat out Abbott Badgley of the softball team (14.3 percent), Jillian Cosler of the women's golf team (4.8 percent) and
Mason Breidenbach of the baseball team.
