PEORIA, Ill. – Bradley University announces the 2025 Hall of Fame Class with inductees to be recognized during Bradley University's Homecoming Weekend, October 17-18, 2025.
The Bradley Athletics Hall of Fame Class of 2025 will include 2010-11 MVC Women's Golfer of the Year Kelly Amundrud, 2007 Soccer America Coach of the Year and 28-year Bradley Soccer head coach Jim DeRose, MLS Supplemental Draft pick Bryan Gaul and Men's Basketball stars Walt Lemon Jr. and Andrew Warren.
Kelly Amundrud, Women's Golf (2008-12)
A four-year member of the Women's Golf team, Kelly Amundrud earned a litany of MVC accolades during her time on the Hilltop. A two-time All-MVC first-team selection, Amundrud was tabbed MVC Women's Golfer of the Week six times in her collegiate career.
In 2010-11, Amundrud won two individual tournament titles as a junior, becoming only the third golfer in program history to win multiple individual titles in one season en route to being named MVC Women's Golfer of the Year. Her seven top-10 finishes tied a then-program record for a single season and her 27 rounds in the 70s or lower set a then-program record. Her 36-hole score of 143 at the 2010 Butler Fall Invitational remains the lowest in program history.
Amundrud graduated in 2012 with three career school records set: top-10 finishes, rounds in the 70s and scoring average. Off the course, Amundrud was a three-time MVC Scholar-Athlete first-team selection, earning Academic All-American honors in 2011 (third-team) and 2012 (second-team).
Jim DeRose, Soccer Head Coach (1996-2023)
Hired by Bradley as the youngest head coach in NCAA Division I men's soccer in 1996, Jim DeRose racked up 267 victories in his 28 years at the helm, the second-most victories in MVC history. Entering the 2024 season, DeRose was the head coach for 83.96% of all victories in program history. DeRose coached student-athletes who earned 110 All-MVC awards, 77 MVC Scholar-Athlete awards, 51 United Soccer Coaches All-Region honors and 32 scholastic all-region/district accolades.
The 2007 Soccer America National Coach of the Year, DeRose's Braves won seven MVC Championships (regular season and tournament) and made seven NCAA Tournament appearances, including a run to the 2007 Elite Eight after winning the MVC regular-season and tournament championships.
In his career, DeRose's teams were unbeaten in 24 consecutive overtime games (10 wins, 14 draws) from 2001-2006, a record that is likely to be untouched because of rules eliminating overtime in regular season games. The Braves were nationally ranked in eight different seasons and won 22 matches versus ranked opponents, including a 1-0 victory against #1 UConn on Sept. 14, 2013, the second victory against the number-one team in the nation in Bradley Athletics history (1960 men's basketball versus Cincinnati). DeRose has coached 12 All-Americans, including the only four-year Men's Soccer All-American in Bradley Athletics and MVC history (Gavin Glinton), the only four-time All-MVC first-team goalkeeper (Chris Dunsheath), 16 academic All-Americans and nine student-athletes who were selected in the Major League Soccer SuperDraft (Glinton, fellow 2025 Hall of Fame honoree Bryan Gaul and current Bradley Soccer head coach Tim Regan).
Bryan Gaul, Soccer (2008-11)
A four-year student-athlete for men's soccer, Bryan Gaul carved out a successful career as a forward, despite not playing the position until midway through the 2010 season. Gaul finished his career on the Hilltop with the fourth-most goals scored in Bradley history (31), the fifth-most points (75) and top-15 in most assists (13).
At Bradley, Gaul was named first-team NSCAA All-Midwest Region and All-MVC in 2010 and 2011, was an All-MVC honorable mention in 2009 and was a first-team MVC Scholar-Athlete in 2011. During his 2008 season he was named to the MVC's All-Freshman in 2008 and was selected as the MVC's Co-Newcomer of the year. He was also a two-time selection for CollegeSoccerNews.com and TopDrawSoccer.com Teams of the Week and was named the national Player of the Week by both organizations on Aug. 29, 2011, after leading the Braves to a season-opening win at Butler. Gaul helped Bradley make the only back-to-back tournament appearances in program history in 2010 (MVC Tournament champion) and 2011 (at-large selection). Gaul's 15 career game-winning goals also rank as the second-most in program history.
Drafted in the first round of the 2012 MLS Supplemental Draft by the LA Galaxy, Gaul would play 14 career games in MLS for the Galaxy, including seven as a starter during the MLS Cup-winning season of 2012. After playing professionally in Germany from 2016-19, Gaul announced his retirement in the summer of 2019.
Walt Lemon Jr., Men's Basketball (2010-14)
Walt Lemon Jr. played at Bradley for four seasons and graduated as the seventh-leading scorer in Bradley Basketball history with 1,721 points, the most by a Brave in a 32-year period from 1988 through 2020.
On the court, Lemon became the fourth player in MVC history to tally at least 1,700 career points, 350 assists and 200 steals, joining Hersey Hawkins, Larry Bird and Darren Brooks (SIU). In his junior season in 2012-13, Lemon joined Hawkins as the only players in MVC history to have a season with 500 points, 100 rebounds, 100 assists and 70 steals. A three-time MVC Scholar-Athlete selection, Lemon was the 2013-14 MVC Men's Basketball Scholar-Athlete of the Year, the first in Bradley history.
Lemon has played professionally in the USA and internationally, including playing five years in the NBA G League and 11 NBA games for the New Orleans Pelicans (2017-18) and his hometown Chicago Bulls (2018-19). Lemon averaged 14.3 points per game in his six-game Bulls tenure, including a 24-point performance against the Washington Wizards. Most recently, Lemon played in China for Shanxi Brave and in the Dominican Republic for Reales de La Vega during the 2024-25 season.
Andrew Warren, Men's Basketball (2006-11)
A five-year star for Bradley Men's Basketball, Andrew Warren graduated as the 10th-leading scorer in program history at 1,621 career points. After averaging 4.1 points during his freshman season coming off the bench, Warren started 95 out of 96 games played and averaged 15.4 points per game from 2007-11 (excluding the 2008-09 season, which he redshirted due to a broken foot).
After receiving All-Missouri Valley Conference honorable mention honors as a redshirt junior in 2009-10, Warren was an All-MVC and NABC All-District First Team selection in 2010-11. Warren led The Valley in multiple categories offensively, including scoring (18.8 ppg), three-pointers made per game (2.4), free throws made per game (4.2) and minutes played (36.7 mpg).
As a senior, Warren scored 20 or more points in 18 games, more than any other team in The Valley during the season. In the final home game of his career, Warren was the first player in the nation during the 2010-11 season to register at least 30 points (33), 10 rebounds (11), five assists (5) and four steals (4) in a single game. He also made 40 consecutive free throws from Dec. 4, 2010, through Jan. 4, 2011, the longest in the country during the season, the second-longest in program history, and the longest such streak by a Brave since 2004.
A member of Bradley squads that reached the second round of the 2007 NIT and the championship game of the inaugural CBI in 2008, Warren played professionally from 2011-21 in Australia, Cyprus, New Zealand, Argentina, the NBA G-League, Estonia, Germany and Italy. He closed his playing career helping MHP Riesen Ledwigsburg to the best record during the 2020-21 German Bundesliga regular season. Currently, Warren is an Assistant Coach for the Utah Jazz after spending two seasons as the Video Coordinator and Player Development Coach on Will Hardy's staff.
In addition to his pro playing career, Warren twice joined the roster for Always A Brave, helping the Bradley alumni team reach the third round of the 2017 and 2021 editions of The Basketball Tournament.
Congratulations to the 2025 Bradley Hall of Fame Class.
