PEORIA, Ill. -- Bradley University cross country athlete JD Rosslee has been named this week's Busey Bank Scholar-Athlete of the Week, announced Tuesday. Rosslee was honored after taking first place in the Men's 6K race at the Fighting Illini Open on Friday, Aug. 29.

The junior from South Africa placed first in a season-opening meet for the second time in his career, finishing in the top spot by 10 seconds over second place. Rosslee completed the race in 17:23.5 and helped the Braves finish first out of seven teams, competing against Illinois and multiple Missouri Valley Conference foes.

Rosslee's strong performance and academic success have earned him this week's Busey Bank Scholar-Athlete honor.
