PEORIA, Ill. -- Bradley University women's basketball athlete Ellie McDermid has been named this week's Busey Bank Scholar-Athlete of the Week, announced Tuesday. McDermid was honored after recording a double-double in Bradley's conference victory at Drake on Jan. 16.

The sophomore from Green Bay, Wisconsin, scored a season-best-tying 14 points and grabbed 10 rebounds against Drake, notching her first double-double of the season and fourth of her career. McDermid shot six-of-10 from the field and made her lone three-point attempt. McDermid followed with a career-high-tying 13-rebound performance at Northern Iowa with a season-high four offensive rebounds.

McDermid's strong performance and academic success have earned her this week's Busey Bank Scholar-Athlete honor.
