PEORIA, Ill. -- Bradley University women's basketball athlete Mya Wardle has been named this week's Busey Bank Scholar-Athlete of the Week, announced Tuesday. Wardle was honored after averaging 20.5 points per game while shooting 14-for-21 from the field and 11-for-13 from three-point range during the week.

The sophomore from Peoria tallied a then-career-high 16 points against Northern Iowa on Feb. 5 before scoring a now-career-high 25 points against Indiana State on Feb. 9. Wardle shot 66.7 percent from the field during the week and 84.6 percent from three-point range across the two games. Wardle was honored by the Missouri Valley Conference for her standout week, earning both MVC Player and Newcomer of the Week awards.

Wardle's strong performance and academic success have earned her this week's Busey Bank Scholar-Athlete honor.
