PEORIA, Ill. -- Bradley University track & field athlete Nadia Potgieter has been named this week's Busey Bank Scholar-Athlete of the Week, announced Tuesday. Potgieter was honored after running 16:12.81 in the women's 5000m race over the weekend, shattering her prior personal best by nearly one minute.

The senior from South Africa led all Braves in the 5000m race at the David Hemery Valentine Invitational, setting a time of 16:12.81. The time was a personal best for Potgieter by nearly a full minute and was the fourth-fastest 5000m time in program history. The time was also the fastest 5000m time by a Brave in the Carlson era and the fastest since 2023.

Potgieter's strong performance and academic success have earned her this week's Busey Bank Scholar-Athlete honor.
