PEORIA, Ill. -- Bradley University tennis athlete Mariia Pukhina has been named this week's Busey Bank Scholar-Athlete of the Week, announced Tuesday. Pukhina was honored after going a perfect 4-0 in doubles and singles matches during Bradley's road matches against Oakland and Eastern Michigan.

The senior from Moscow, Russia, went 2-0 in doubles with Ruby Tseng and 2-0 in singles matches on court three in West Bloomfield Township and Ypsilanti, Mich. Pukhina and Tseng won their doubles match against Oakland, 6-2, and their match against Eastern Michigan, 6-4, to help Bradley secure the doubles point in both matches. Pukhina picked up a pair of two-set victories in singles, winning her Oakland match 6-4, 6-3, and winning her Eastern Michigan match 6-2, 6-4.

Pukhina's strong performance and academic success have earned her this week's Busey Bank Scholar-Athlete honor.
