Washington, D.C. – Bradley Women's Basketball's comeback fell short against the George Washington Revolutionaries in a 63-60 loss on Thursday night at the Charles E. Smith Center.

A Strong Start

The Braves came out sharp, setting the tone early on both ends of the floor. Bradley built an early advantage behind efficient offense and defensive pressure, jumping out to a 19-13 lead after the first quarter. The Braves continued to control the pace in the second, holding off GW runs and maintaining their edge to take a 32-25 lead into halftime. 

Standout Performances for Bradley

Bradley's offense was fueled by strong perimeter shooting, knocking down nine three-pointers on the night and shooting 39 percent from the field. 

The Braves also took care of the basketball, committing just nine turnovers while forcing 11 from George Washington. 

Bradley controlled much of the game, holding the lead for over 32 minutes and building a double-digit advantage in the third quarter. 

The Comeback Fell Short

George Washington opened the second half with a surge, using a 23-point third quarter to cut into Bradley's lead. Despite the push, the Braves remained in front entering the fourth quarter.

The Revolutionaries continued their momentum in the final period, outscoring Bradley 15-9 to complete the comeback. 

Bradley stayed within striking distance late, but GW capitalized at the free throw line and in the paint down the stretch to secure the 63-60 win.

Defensive Notes

The Braves held GW to just 36 percent shooting from the field and limited them to three made three-pointers, but were hurt inside, where the Revolutionaries held a 34-16 advantage in points in the paint.

George Washington also converted 18-of-20 free throws, which proved to be the difference in a one-possession game. 

Bradley matched GW on the glass and generated eight steals, but the late scoring drought in the fourth quarter ultimately allowed the Revolutionaries to complete the comeback.
