Tennis Splits Against Northern Illinois & Kansas City

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 PEKIN, Ill. – Bradley Tennis split its matches in Pekin this past weekend, picking up a victory over Northern Illinois and falling to Kansas City.

BRADLEY vs NORTHERN ILLINOIS
The Braves began the weekend by defeating the Northern Illinois Huskies, 4-3, on Friday, Feb. 27.

Bradley continued its strong play in doubles, as the pairs of Ann Hsieh/Valeriia Ivanovskaia and Mariia Pukhina/Ruby Tseng picked up victories on courts one and two. 

Singles play began with a commanding two-set victory from Ruby Tseng on court two, winning 6-4, 6-1 over NIU's Lucia Yecora. Shortly after, Anna Belogliadova earned a 6-3, 6-3 victory on court four to put Bradley up 3-0. After falling in the first set, Valeriia Ivanovskaia rallied to win the last two sets on court one and secure the match victory over Irmak Budak, 3-6, 6-1, 6-3.

BRADLEY vs KANSAS CITY
The Braves closed the weekend against Kansas City, falling to the Roos, 4-3, on Sunday, March 1.

Bradley won the doubles point for the sixth consecutive match, earning victories on all three courts. The pairs of Ann Hsieh/Valeriia Ivanovskaia and Mariia Pukhina/Ruby Tseng earned their second doubles victory over the weekend, while Anna Belogliadova/Compassion Tsai picked up a 6-2 victory.

Valeriia Ivanovskaia and Ruby Tseng secured straight-set victories on singles courts one and two, with Ivanovskaia winning 6-1, 7-6 (5), and Tseng winning 7-6 (4), 6-4. Both players went a perfect 4-0 in all matches played. Overall, Tseng now has nine victories in 10 singles matches played and 14 wins for the whole season.
