Track & Field Career Bests

Senior (2014-15 Track): Clocked career-best times in both the 600 & 800 meters during the indoor season … Ran in the 800 meters during the outdoor campaign, posting the fastest time on the squad at the MVC Championship. 

Senior (2013-14): Opened the fall with a career-best 4-mile time of 22:24 at the Bradley Intercollegiate.

Junior (2012-13): Ran in only two races during the cross country season and redshirted the outdoor track campaign ... Clocked a career-best 8K time at the Louisville Classic.

Sophomore (2011-12): Saw action in four meets and turned in an 8K career-best of 27:20 at the Illinois Intercollegiates ... Was 19th at the Illini Open in his final event of the year ... Had the top times in both 800 meters and 1,500 meters ... Qualified for the 800 meter finals at the MVC Championship, running a season-best 1:53.29 in the prelims ... Finished 8th in the 800 at the MVC Championship and 10th in the 1,500 meters.

Freshman (2010-11): Competed in five events as a freshman ... Had a season-best 8K time of 27:26 at the Bradley Classic.

Prep Overview: Lettered in cross country and track ... Qualified for the state championship in cross country.

Personal: The son of Dan and Julie Garland, Shane has two younger siblings: Jamie  and Sydney ... Majoring in mechanical engineering.
