2014 Season (Senior): Second-Team All-MVC selection … Named to the MVC All-Tournament team … Selected as team's top offensive player ... Led the team with a .326 batting average and eight home runs … Second on the squad with 34 RBI … Hit .344 with runners on and owned a .375 batting average with runners in scoring position … Collected 12 multi-hit games and tied for the team lead with 10 multi-RBI games … Clubbed a pair of solo home runs in the MVC Tournament semifinal win against Wichita State, including a go-ahead shot in the fifth inning … Hit seven of her eight home runs against Valley opponents, including three against regular-season league champion Wichita State … Hit .388 with 17 runs and 21 RBI over her final 29 games … Was among the league leaders with a .406 average in MVC play … Drove in a team-high 18 runs in league action … Hit .441 with runners on and .474 with runners in scoring position in Valley games … Her team-best eight home runs were the most by a Brave since 2009 and tied for the second most in school history … Tied for eighth-best season total in Bradley history with 34 RBI … Owned a team-high .558 slugging percentage, which is fifth all-time on The Hilltop … Finished her career tied for 10th in school history with 12 home runs despite playing just two seasons at Bradley.
2013 Season (Junior): Started 33 of the 50 games she appeared in ... Tied for second on the team with four home runs and was sixth with 19 runs scored ... Also tied for sixth with 16 RBI ... Hit .300 in Missouri Valley Conference play ... Owned a .308 batting average with runners in scoring position ... Was third on the team with five multi-RBI games ... Made 15 of her starts her starts in the outfield and had a team-high 11 starts at designated player ... Ended the year strong, going 10-for-24 (.417) with two homers, three runs and four RBI in the final eight games of the season ... Homered in back-to-back games, helping Bradley to wins against Hampton and IUPUI.
2012 Season (Redshirt): Sat out the 2012 season after transferring from Southern Idaho.
Southern Idaho (2010 & 2011): Hit .480 with 20 doubles, 25 homers and a school season record 105 RBI as a sophomore in 2011 ... Scored 83 runs and boasted a .910 slugging percentage while helping the Golden Eagles to a 44-19 record ... Was a First-Team Louisville Slugger/NFCA NJCAA Division I All-American ... Also earned first-team all-conference honors in 2011 ... As a freshman, hit .307 ... Earned Region 18 all-tournament honors as a sophomore and helped her team finish the year ranked 17th in the NJCAA national poll.
High School: Was a four-year letterwinner in volleyball and also played soccer (three years) and basketball (two years) ... Did not play softball for her high school, but did play club softball, helping her team to the U19 Canadian National Championship
Personal: The daughter of Arnold and Reesa Groenewegen, Marina was born in Richmond, British Columbia ... Has two younger sisters: Sara and Melanie ... Sara is a member of the softball team at Minnesota ... Majored in social work.
