The Bradley volleyball team opened practice Saturday with a pair of workouts at Haussler Hall. The Braves have two-a-day workouts scheduled until classes start on Aug. 27 and open the 2008 season Aug. 29 in Missoula, Mont., against Gonzaga at the Montana Tournament. Juniors Lyndi Senkpiel and Kaitlyn Comiskey will be blogging throughout the season. Senkpiel offered her thoughts following the first two days of practice.
Preseason is in full swing! We’re through two full days of practice and luckily the weather hasn’t been too hot. Our practices have been intense. We’re always moving and don’t have too much down time in between sessions. We’ve been averaging three hours per session with a break for lunch in the middle. Everyone is working hard and helping each other through the days.
Something new to the freshmen is sitting in ice baths following each practice. We sit in tubs of really cold ice water for 10 minutes in order to help our bodies recover faster.
The entire team is living in the dorms for the first week, which is a change of pace for most of the upper classmen. This gives us the chance to bond even more as a team. - Lyndi
