Made his collegiate cross country debut at the Bradley Intercollegiate, running the 8K race in 26:35.5. Set his 8K personal best in the Open race at the Joe Piane Invite, clocking a time of 26:19.4. Indoor: Competed in six meets during the 2026 indoor season. Began the season with first-place finishes in the mile at the Cougar Alumni Open and 600m at the Larry Wieczorek Invite with times of 4:05.25 and 1:17.88, respectively. The latter of the two events marked a new program record. Broke the 800m program record at the David Hemery Valentine Invite, clocking a time of 1:47.22 before breaking the record six days later at the Arkansas Qualifier, lowering it below 1:47.00 to 1:46.79. The time was 20th in the nation at the end of the regular season. One day after breaking the record, he placed first in the 800m event at the Alex Wilson Invite with a 1:47.49. Earned the third MVC 800m title of his career at the MVC Indoor Championship and was named MVC Men's Track Most Outstanding Athlete. Outdoor: Competed in nine meets during the 2026 outdoor season. Began the season with a time of 48.38 seconds in the 400m at the Billiken Invite, the fourth-fastest time in Bradley history. Placed first in the top 800m heat at the Stanford Invite with a time of 1:48.16. Became the first Brave to run 1:45 in an 800m race, lowering the program record to 1:45.74 at the Bryan Clay Invite. Lowered the 800m program record to 1:45.61 in the regular-season finale at the Billy Hayes Invite -- a time that was the 12th-fastest in the entire country. Won his fourth career 800m MVC title at the MVC Outdoor Championships, earning MVC Men's Track Most Outstanding Athlete. Qualified for the NCAA West First Round in the Men's 800m event for the second straight year. Finished third in his First Round heat with a time of 1:48.03 to advance to the Men's 800m Quarterfinals. Followed with a third-place finish in his Quarterfinal heat, running 1:46.69 to progress to the Semifinal race at the NCAA Outdoor Championships in Oregon. Earned Second Team All-American honors after placing 10th in the Men's 800m Semifinal at the NCAA Outdoor Championships, running 1:45.77 for his third 1:45 performance of the season. Became the second Brave in as many seasons to earn a First or Second Team All-American honor (Jack Crull was a First Team All-American in the Men's 1500m in 2025) and the fifth Brave, male or female, since 2000 to be a First or Second Team All-American. 2024-25 SEASON Cross Country: Did not compete during the 2024 cross country season. Indoor: Competed in six meets during the 2025 indoor season. Broke the 800m program record in his second collegiate meet, running 1:48.34 en route to winning the 800m event at the Meyo Invitational. The time ranked as the 63rd-quickest among all NCAA 800m runners and was the fastest on an 800m squad that ranked as high as 15th in the country during the season. Followed with a fourth-place-finishing 1:48.34 at the Iowa State Classic. Won the 800m MVC Championship with a time of 1:51.03. Ran the second leg of the program-record-setting 4x400m Relay at the MVC Championship. Outdoor: Competed in seven meets during the 2025 outdoor season. Set times of 1:50.00 or lower at every 800m event during the outdoor season, beginning with a heat-winning 1:50.00 at the Stanford Invitational. Finished 10th at the Virginia Challenge with a time of 1:48.88. Placed second at the Drake Relays, behind only his teammate, with a time of 1:49.29. Set the 800m program record at the Desert Heat Classic, running a fifth-place 1:48.17 in Arizona. Placed first in the 800m Preliminary race at the MVC Championship before winning the 800m MVC Championship, clocking in at a record-setting 1:47.74. Qualified for the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships after his sensational season. Placed 27th with a time of 1:49.14 at the NCAA West First Round in College Station, Texas. His 800m performance at the MVC Championship ranks as the 34th-fastest time among all runners eligible for the NCAA West Prelims. Including international performances during the summer of 2025, Phillips has run the nine best 800m races in program history.
