Indoor: Competed in five meets during the 2025 indoor season. Qualified for the Men's Mile MVC Championship race, where he finished 10th. He set a new personal best in the finals race, running 4:11.66. Balzer earned his first career MVC Championship as a part of the conference-championship-winning Men's Distance Medley Relay team, running the opening leg. Outdoor: Competed in five meets during the 2025 outdoor season. Finished fourth in the 1500m at the EIU Big Blue Classic. Ran the 3000m Steeplechase for the first time in his career, finishing fourth at the Fighting Illini Twilight. Qualified for the Men's 1500m MVC Championship race, where he finished 10th. 2023-24 SEASON Cross Country: In his collegiate debut, he finished in 14th in the WIU Alumni Invitational in the 6k with a time of 19:26.1. He placed 15th in the Bradley Pink Classic 8k event and fifth at the Butler Stan Lyons Invitational 7.162k, clocking in at 23:05.7. Indoor: He placed first in the 3000 at the John Coughlin Invite with a time of 8:23.63. He placed fourth in the Larry Wieczorek Invitational and third at the IUPUI Invitational. His career high in the mile event came at the 2024 Meyo Invitational with a time of 4:12.75 and a career high in the 3000 at the Boston University David Hemery Valentine Invitational, clocking in at 8:19.90 and 11th place. He finished in sixth place in the mile event at the MVC Championship. Outdoor: Competed in six meets during the 2024 outdoor season. Ran in multiple distance disciplines during the season, including the 800m, 1,500m and 5,000m. He was a member of the 4x1600m Relay team at the Drake Relays that set the fifth-fastest time in program history. Qualified for the Men's 1500m MVC Championship race, where he finished eighth. HIGH SCHOOL Three-year varsity letterwinner for the Minooka Community High School Cross Country and Track and Field team. Earned four All-State titles and MVP twice. Collected third place in the Mile at the IHSA Track & Field Championships in 2023 and placed 18th in the IHSA Cross Country Championships in 2022. PERSONAL The son of Jason and Julie, born June 20, 2005. Two siblings: Mia (6) and Asher (6). Both uncles ran for North Central College. Plans to major in Engineering.
