Teamed with Bradley senior Drew DeGurian at Neuqua Valley High School ... Monteith was named the Chicago Sun-Times and the Naperville Sun High School Player of the Year after leading Neuqua Valley to the 2003 Illinois High School Association Class AA state championship. ... Monteith also earned NSCAA All-Midwest and IHSSCA all-state honors in 2003 after recording 28 goals and 13 assists during his senior season ... Club Soccer
After previously playing for Ajax F.C. in Chicago, Monteith joined the Chicago Magic Soccer Club in 2003 and helped his new team to the 2003 USYSA U-17 boys national championship.
