High School | Belleville West High School
A 2026 graduate of Belleville West High School, Braden Missey was a standout on the soccer field. The Maroons’ striker earned varsity letters from 2023-2026 and was named First Team All-Southwestern Conference (SWC) in each of his three seasons. During his junior and senior seasons, Missey elevated his game and began attracting attention throughout the state and Midwest region, earning All-State honors in 2024-25 and 2025-26, as well as All-Region honors in 2025-26. Over his three-year varsity career, Missey recorded 44 goals and 32 assists.
Soccer was not the only sport where Missey excelled, as he was also a standout in track and field. From 2023-2026, he earned varsity letters and was named All-SWC from 2023-2025. Missey captured sectional championships in the long jump and 4x400 relay, while also placing third in the long jump and fifth in the 4x400 relay at the IHSA State Meet. He was an Indoor State Champion in the long jump, placed 10th at Nike Indoor Nationals in the long jump, and finished 10th at Nike Outdoor Nationals in the long jump. Additionally, Missey helped the 4x400 relay team place third at Nike Outdoor Nationals, earning All-American honors. In 2025-26, he was a conference champion in the long jump, placed second at sectionals, and finished fifth at the IHSA State Track Meet in the event.
Personal
The son of Mat and Jenn Missey, Braden has one sibling, Maddie. He comes from a family of collegiate athletes, as his father was a long jumper at the University of Illinois and his mother played softball at Southeast Missouri State. His sister Maddie also competed collegiately, playing soccer at Greenville University. While at Bradley, Braden will major in Construction Management.
Braden chose Bradley because of the connection he felt during the recruiting process. “During my recruiting visit, I knew that Bradley was going to be a great fit. Playing soccer at the next level has always been a goal of mine. Bradley offered the major that I am interested in, as well as a soccer program that I knew I wanted to be a part of. Coach Regan and Coach Barnett were welcoming and made me feel like a part of the team before I even committed. I also like the size of the campus, as well as all of the things to do in Peoria.”
