A four-year varsity starter at Peoria Notre Dame High School, Gilfillan earned all-state honors as both a junior and senior ... Team captain in his final two seasons, helping the Irish to the 2010 IHSA 2A state championship after a runner-up finish in 2009, as well as a #4 national ranking by the NSCAA in 2010 ...Racked up 78 goals and 50 assists in his four-year soccer career ... In addition to his play on the pitch, Gilfillan starred on the baseball diamond and basketball court at PND ... Helped the Irish boys basketball team to a 28-1 boys basketball record and No. 1 state rank in class 3A during the 2010-11 season and the baseball squad to conference and sectional championships in 2011.
