At Bradley (2001-04)

Bowden redshirted the 2001 season with a toe injury that kept him out of action until the end of the 2002 season ... Played through a painful hip injury for most of the 2003 season and has been recovering from surgery last February in Nashville, Tenn. ... Made his college debut Oct. 27, 2002, versus #11 Creighton ... Has been a regular in the lineup the last two seasons, appearing in 39 games with 20 starts since the start of the 2003 campaign ... Both of his assists have set up game-winning goals, including Preston Good’s strike versus Providence in the 2003 season opener.

 

Prep Overview

A defensive central midfielder at Lincoln-Way High School, Bowden teamed with former Indiana star Ned Grabavoy to lead the Knights to three straight SICA West league titles and consecutive IHSA AA state tournament runner-up finishes ... Contributed 10 goals and 12 assists from his defensive position as a senior in 2000 to earn team Most Valuable Player honors ... Also collected all-conference and IHSA Elite Eight All-Tournament accolades and was named to the All-Area team by the Daily Southtown, Herald News and Star Herald.

 

Club Soccer

Bowden was an outside back for the 2000 Chicago Magic Under-18 national champion squad and the 2001 national runner-up team.

 

Personal

The son of Lloyd and Donna Bowden, Nick was born April 22, 1983 ... Majoring in economics, Bowden has earned a spot on the Bradley Athletic Director’s Honor Roll in each of his first eight semesters on The Hilltop.
