Sharpsteen enjoyed a high-scoring junior college career at nearby Illinois Central College, racking up 109 points in 39 career games ... Finishing 11th in the NJCAA with 57 points last season, Sharpsteen led the Cougars to a sixth-place finish in their first-ever appearance in the NJCAA national tournament in Tyler, Texas ... Holds the ICC career records for points (109), goals (43) and assists (23).

Sharpsteen headed west with several Bradley teammates this past summer to play for the Ogden (Utah) Outlaws in the Premier Development League ... Teamed with fellow Braves Mike Haynes, Ken Hickman and Nick Mentgen in Ogden, where he scored one goal in 12 games.
