Biography

Overview: Coming off her first full-time season, Ramsey will start in center field ... One of the quickest players on the roster, her speed is her best asset and will allow her to also see time as a pinch runner.

2007 Season (Junior): Appeared in 44 games, starting 39 in the outfield positions ... Hit .260 with three doubles, two homers, and 15 RBI ... Hit .313 with runners in scoring position ... Perfect in three stolen base attempts ... Made just one error on her way to a .976 fielding percentage ... Had a team-high12 RBI during conference play ... Went 3-for-4 with an RBI, stolen base, and a run scored in a victory over IUPUI Feb. 24 ... Had a five game hit streak early in the season, going 7-for-14 during that span ... Collected three hits with five RBI, three runs, a double, and a home run in an April 17 doubleheader against Northern Iowa.

2006 Season (Sophomore): One of the Braves top reserves in the outfield, Ramsey started 14 of the 26 games she appeared in ... Missed the first 10 games of the season due to injury, but hit .279 with four doubles and one triple on the season ... Went 2-for-3 with a double and a triple in a game at Drake ... Notched two of her three RBI on the year in a game at Wichita State, going 2-for-4 with two runs scored and a double ... Scored three times as a pinch runner.

2005 Season (Freshman): Appeared in 41 games and started a total of 21 contests ... Saw the bulk of her playing time in center field and right field, making 11 and nine starts in those positions, respectively ... Hit .151 on the year and scored eight runs to rank seventh on the team and first among the Braves reserves ... Raised her batting average to .190 in conference play ... Collected her first career hit at Chattanooga, going 1-for-3.

High School: A three-sport athlete at Washington High School, she was a four-year member of the softball team, where she was a two-time third-team Illinois Coaches’ Association all-state selection ... She also garnered all-conference honors twice in her career, helping the Panthers to an IHSA regional championship in 2003 ... Earned third-team all-state honors from the Chicago Tribune as a senior ... Owned a .400 batting average and drove in 32 runs in her final prep season and holds the school record for career doubles ... Earned honorable mention all-area honors from the Peoria Journal State in 2004 ... Was a four-year member of the volleyball team where she teamed with current Bradley Volleyball team member Eileen Hillary to help the Panthers to a 30-4 record and sectional championship in 2003 as a senior ... She earned second-team all Mid-Illini Conference honors as a senior and also lettered in basketball all four years.

Personal: The daughter of Joyce and Danny Ramsey, Stephanie was born on March 9, 1986 in Peoria, Ill. ... The oldest of two children, she has a younger brother, Josh (20) ... Majoring in elementary education ... Named to the Bradley Athletic Director’s Honor Roll in each of her first seven semesters at Bradley.
